Spark Education opened its first offline learning center in Australia on April 14, 2024. This new center in Balwyn, Melbourne, is the seventh center for the global leader of STEM education, following successful launches in Singapore, China, the United States, and Canada. It highlights Spark’s dedication to global educational leadership and strengthens its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
A Day of Celebration and Learning
The grand opening drew over 300 guests, with more than 150 children engaged in various learning activities. Wilson Li, CFO of Spark Education Group and General Manager of its Global Offline Business, led the ceremony, joined by Hon. Jess Wilson MP, State Member for Kew, and local partners Ricky Chen and Roy Wu.
“We aim to not only expand our reach but also to deepen our impact, providing students with unparalleled learning experiences that are both engaging and educational.” Wilson Li stated Spark’s commitment to educational excellence and excitement to enrich Balwyn’s educational landscape.
“It’s incredibly fantastic to hear about the success of Spark Education around the world,” remarked Hon. Jess Wilson MP, Shadow Minister for Early Childhood and Education. She further applauded Spark’s potential to enhance the local educational scene.
Mark Luo, founder and CEO of Spark Education Group, also addressed the event virtually, emphasizing the Melbourne learning center’s significance in Spark’s global strategy.
Strategic Expansion and Local Commitment: Why Balwyn, Melbourne?
Spark’s first Australian learning center is strategically set up in Balwyn for its robust educational community. Balwyn is home to renowned schools such as Balwyn High School, Balwyn Primary School, Fintona Girl’s School, Camberwell Grammar, and Carey Baptist Grammar.
“Balwyn’s educational landscape is vibrant,” remarked Wilson Li. “It’s a hub that attracts families seeking more than just a residence but a community deeply committed to education.”
Spark Education’s Melbourne learning center now offers tailored programs such as Spark Math and Spark Chinese, our flagship programs loved by our students. Future offerings will feature Spark Coding and Spark Chess. These programs cater to the educational preferences and needs of the Australian community, ensuring quality learning experiences for every student.
A Track Record of Excellence and Commitment to Expansion
Spark Education now has over 3,000 full-time teachers and educators, serving over 700,000 users globally. Our student-centric spirit shapes our educational philosophy, products, and services. While most of Spark’s global user base is online, we are expanding offline learning centers like the one in Melbourne as part of our ongoing strategy to improve service and meet the diverse needs for face-to-face classes.
“We believe that the ages of 3-12 are the golden time to cultivate children’s learning ability and interest, and it is our mission to spark our students’ passion for learning, and shape the trajectory of their lifelong growth.”
Wilson Li reiterated Spark’s commitment to exploring both online and offline avenues, ensuring supportive and interactive learning experiences for all.
During the opening ceremony, Wilson also announced the launch of Spark Education’s full cycle licensing model in Australia, a testament to our commitment to spreading educational excellence. Having established successful precedents in the United States and Canada, we are excited to offer our partners a holistic support system.
This encompasses a high-quality curriculum with hands-on materials, interactive digital platforms for engaging student experiences, complete classroom design support including both hardware and software, and robust end-to-end assistance spanning financial, training, operational, and marketing domains.
