May is more than just enjoying the flowers, it’s about giving teachers the flowers they deserve. The first full week of May is “Teacher’s Appreciation Week”. Spark Math by Spark Education is proud of the experienced teachers who lead every one of our live classes. Our teachers are what make Spark Math so effective in creating strong problem solvers. The passion and love for learning our educators have help support our proprietary curriculum and courseware. Check out some of our teachers sharing their experience and why they love working with Spark Math and our students.
Alex Vang, Spark Math Teacher
5 Years of Math Teaching Experience
Hi my name is Alex Vang and I’ve been a teacher for over five years now. I’ve taught math on all levels ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade. And I’ve been teaching in the online setting for three of the five years. (Spark Math) was the platform that best replicated an in person classroom, but in an online setting. That’s because I’m able to interact with my students in live time and help them effectively by using the highly innovative teaching software that they provide us teachers.
I have the most profound effect on my students learning because of the spotlight classes, the highly interactive courseware. When our students are having a hard time understanding anything, or a new concept, I’m able to effectively help them by using the built in teaching tools to either pull them aside or highlight certain important parts of a problem. It just really helps ease the learning process in an online setting. And makes it very fluid when we are teaching in the online classroom.
Daad Naserdeen, Spark Math Teacher
18 Years of Math Teaching Experience
Hi, my name is Daad Naserdeen, and I am an elementary school teacher. I have been teaching for 18 years, half of those years have been teaching at international schools. I believe that all students can learn and have fun using different modes of teaching.
(Spark Math’s) platform is interactive. It’s very engaging. It allows for fruitful dialogue between the teacher and student. It also allows for teacher guidance rather than direct instruction, and it gives the student responsibility of their own learning. I truly believe that Spark helps students prepare for a global and competitive economy by building strong math and critical thinking skills to help problem solve, as well as build confidence in their mathematical skills and abilities.
